Guindy National Park is located in the Guindy area near Raj Bhavan in Chennai. Despite being the smallest national park in India, it plays a vital role in preserving urban wildlife and green cover within the city.

Wildlife & Biodiversity

Although compact in size, Guindy National Park supports a rich variety of flora and fauna. Visitors can observe around 14 species of mammals, including nearly 2,000 deer, 24 jackals, and about 400 blackbucks. In addition, the park hosts nearly 130 species of birds, making it a favorite spot for bird watchers. Butterflies and insects also thrive here, with over 60 recorded varieties, adding vibrant color to the landscape.
