The garden operates from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm throughout the week.

Madurai Corporation Eco Park is situated on the western side of Annamaligai at Madurai. It is a big park consuming an area of around 5.5 acres of land.

The park houses a variety of trees and plants. Out of the number of trees present here, 124 types of herbal trees are present. Public and Tourists can enjoy themselves when boating inside ECO park.

Four types of fiber illuminated types of trees are the best attractions other than the artificial fountain that is 110 feet tall. The Eco-park was developed by Madurai Corporation and is being maintained by the same from the beginning.

Seran’s Fun Park in Theni

Located at a distance of 4 kilometres from Theni, Seran’s Park is a recreation center and a play stop for kids. The park has a huge play area, computer games section and movies played on an open air screen space.

Entertaining exercises, Laser Light Show, Kiddy Rides, Archery, Boat Ride and Trampoline are a part of the distinctive activities at the center. The Water Cave or Aqua Cave is yet another fascinating part, housing more than 100 rare species of fish and ocean species.

The timing for the park is from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM everyday. Entry fee is charged at Rs. 50 for all above 4 years. Separate fee is charged for optional games inside the center.

Semmozhi Poonga or Semmozhi Park is a botanical garden in Chennai situated on the Mount Road junction. It was set up and maintained by the horticulture department of Govt. of Tamil Nadu. It was opened to the public in November 2010 by then chief minister Dr.M.Karunanidhi. It is the first botanical garden in the city. It was set up with millions of cost on importing exotic species of plants and the park currently has more than 500 species of plants. In fact, green thumbs can rejoice at the effort they’ve put in to cataloging each of the species and placing placards with their scientific names next to them.

There’s tall trees, small groves, lush vines, exotic flowers like orchids, green lawns. In the course of the construction, the garden has received nearly ₹ 800,000 worth plants from China. The arch near the entrance plaza is a vertical garden which is a unique feature of the botanical garden. The vertical garden, with an inbuilt irrigation and drain system for easy maintenance, is 22 feet long and 14 feet high intended to improve the scenic beauty of the park at the entrance.

A butterfly garden near the cascade fountains along the Anna flyover has been carved up into the shape of a butterfly, with flowering plants of more than 30 species completely fenced.

It is an ideal place for a family day out. which makes sense because the pretty walkways, chirping birds, and overall calm is inviting and there’s plenty of nice places to take photos. It is also great for a walk or a run in the morning, or for a post-work de-stressing stroll while sunset. Ticket prices are fairly nominal with an adult ticket costing INR 15. INR 25 fee for carrying a professional camera.

If a picnic is what you’re thinking, be advised that you’re not allowed to bring outside food/drink into the park. There is, however, a small food court inside the park that you can eat at or buy food from. Kids have their own playground with swings, slides, scaffolding to climb on and a sandpit to play in.

There is a small pond/tank, a fountain and a rock-garden (with water falling down some rocks). Theosophical Society is one of the popular attractions in the city of Chennai. A peaceful heaven in the middle of the bustling city situated in Besant Nagar, near Elliot’s beach along the Adyar River. It was founded by Annie Besant in the year 1875. We can go with your friends or family to relax for a while. Theosophical Society provides a peaceful, green, vehicle-free retreat from the city. Despite restricted opening hours, it’s a lovely spot to wander. A perfect place for meditation as well.

Mettur Dam – Salem

Mettur Dam situated in Salem is one of the largest dams in India and is the largest dam as far as Tamil Nadu is concerned.

With a capacity of 93tmcft, it caters to the water needs of Tamil Nadu for drinking and other purposes. Constructed across the river Cauvery, in the year 1935, it creates the Stanley reservoir and the construction of the dam took 9 long years to be completed. The maximum height and width of the Dam are 214 and 171 feet respectively.

The maximum storage height is 120 feet. With all that, the Mettur dam has two hydroelectric power stations which are big and was constructed during the British rule and the other one was constructed by the Indian Republic.

The dam is surrounded by hills, a park called Ellis Park etc., which has made the place the best place to visit in Salem.

Hogenakal Falls is close to this Dam. Mettur Dam is two times larger than the KRS dam located in Karnataka that was built by Sir M. Vishveswaraiah. Visit the place and explore the area for your reviews. If you visit during the monsoon season, you can spend more time to see around.

Mettur Dam Park

Mettur Park is located below the foot of the Mettur dam. Maintenance is very good, more games there and Kids will love it.

Another specialty of the park is the Zodiac sign park (Nakshatra vanam) where you can plant a sapling for free as per your zodiac sign.

Each plant in the Zodiac park represents each Zodiac sign. Also, 12 plants are planted representing 12 Zodiac Sign(Rasi) of people.

The park is open for you on Weekdays from 6 am – 6 pm and on weekends from 7 am – 10 pm.

According to 2013 reports, the zoo has 890 animals including 335 birds, 106 mammals, and 54 reptiles.

This zoological park has a separate play area for children, toy trains and an aquarium etc.

Lakhs of people gathered here during the Jallikattu protest and made a history in the year 2017, mainly youngsters.

This is an event that has been added on to the history of Coimbatore. If you wish to visit VOC park when you are here, you are right as it is a place that can keep you engaged big time.

TNAU Botanical Garden is located at Marudhamalai, Coimbatore and is a very old park. This garden was established in the year 1925, and it is being maintained by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU).

The garden occupies a huge space of about 3000 hectares of land and has a variety of plants, trees, flowers etc to keep the visitors excited about their visit.

They are extremely eye-catching and a cool place to visit. Entry fee for adults is Rs. 20/- and for kids it is Rs.10/-. Photographs are prohibited.
