The District Central Library – Coimbatore

The district Central Library

The District Central Library is one of the oldest and most prominent public libraries in the region. Established in the year 1952 at Victoria Town Hall, the library began with the primary aim of meeting the reading and knowledge needs of the general public. Subsequently, in the mid-year of 1956, the authorities relocated the library to VOC Park to accommodate its growing collection and increasing number of readers. As the library continued to expand rapidly, it was later shifted to its present location on Cowley Brown Road in RS Puram.
