Perambalur District
Perambalur District is located at a distance of 267 kilometers south of Chennai. Perambalur District came into existence on 01-10-1995 following the trifurcation of Trichy District. The city of Perambalur serves as the district headquarters.The district is bordered by Cuddalore district in the north, Trichy in the south, Namakkal and Trichy districts in the west and Ariyalur in the east. Perambalur District is the main producer for maize and small onions in Tamil Nadu. The district also has numerous colleges and educational institutions.
